7th Green Changes
The new changes to the 7th green are as follows:
1. We eliminated the long greenside bunker left of the green and created 2 deeper bunkers that sit almost sideways to the green. By doing this, we allow more foot traffic to access the green from all areas left of the green instead of in the front and back of the green only as was the case before.
2. We removed the retaining wall that was along the right of the green and sloped the banks right to the waters edge. We also removed the shaved down area that was right of the green and replaced it with rough to make the hole more fair if your ball rolls off the right side of the green.
3. We widened the approach by shifting the front right bunker closer to the pond and at the same time, the 2 bunkers to the left have fairway running right into them, so a shot left f the green will surely roll into the bunkers instead of getting caught up in the rough before.
4. We added a new tournament pin placement back left of the hole by expanding the green behind the new bunkers. This will add a tough pin to get at especially since the hole plays anywhere from 180-205.

New Tees and Bunkers Ready on #9
The new tee complex and newly added fairway bunker complex are completed and ready for play. We have added a new black tee that will play about 560 yards and the hole will be totally complete in the fall when we address other fairway bunkers and the green complex. Remember, the new tees sit on the old ditch that was relocated down along the 3rd fairway for drainage purposes and now the hole plays as a slight dogleg right instead of a straightaway par 5.

Fairway Bunkers Ready for Sand and Sod on #1
If Mother Nature cooperates with us in the next 24 hours, the fairway bunkers on 1 and 9 will be finished by the weekend as long as the heavy thunderstorms hold off long enough for us to lay sod. We started these bunkers last Thursday morning, and really did not work on them on Saturday or Sunday and will be done by Friday of the this week. Hats off to my crew for pushing the gas pedal when needed to get 4 new bunkers done before Memorial Day weekend. This will put an end to our "must finish" projects for this summer and we will be working on some new tees on holes 2 and 12 throughout the summer as we have time. These new tees will be situated in a different location than the current tees which will allow us to get a head start on them now without having to inconvenience the members.

Construction of Fairway Bunkers on #9 Under Way
New fairway bunkers are being constructed to the left of the fairway on #9. The shortest bunker will play 235 yards from the white tees, 260 from the blue tees and 280 from the black tees and the long bunker will play about 260 from the white, 285 from the blue and 305 from the black tees. With the new tees now situated to the right of the cart path, these bunkers are now a focal point and an aiming point off the tee and ideally a slight cut is the preferred shot off the tees.
