Wow, what a difference a couple of years and a ditch make! The top picture is the 6th hole back in 2010 following a 2" rain storm. Notice there is no ditch to the right of the picture. The bottom picture is the same hole last week following a 3" rain storm. Notice the small puddles to the left of the picture that remained. With the construction of the new ditch last fall, we now capture all the runoff from our neighboring properties that used to flood our course. Now with the ditch, we have the capability to add drainage to the fairway now that we have somewhere to drain it to. We started the drainage last week and got 2 laterals completed with all the rain and we have another 20 more laterals to go.
