Insurance Policy
We recently planted 2 large oak trees in the right rough to the right of 18 fairway. These trees are future replacements for the large oak that frames the dogleg. If we were to ever lose the old oak, the whole strategic value of the hole would change. These replacements will be here long after our time here at Arcola.

Tough Conditions
The weather has been less than desirable the past few weeks, but we managed to get 2 tees prepped and sodded on Friday during the little snow event we received in the morning. Once 13 tees are completed, we move on to the new upper range tee and the 16th tee complex.

Wind Damage
The heavy storms this past month produced heavy rains and winds. While we did not lose any big trees, we did lose a lot of branches and our new arborvitae hedge by the new range tee had 80% of the plants uproot. We now have to stake and rope all these to prevent from happening again and to ensure the plants will survive.

Construction of Upper Range Tee Underway
Work has begun on the new upper practice tee. Even though we had a few warm days this past weekend, we have been fighting through not so great weather this winter trying to get things done. More heavy rain on its way tomorrow which will set us back again.

Progress on 13th Tees
Despite the frigid temperatures last week, we were able to rough in the main white tee on 13. We are hoping with good weather next week to make more significant progress.

Cleaning Up Wooded Area to Improve Vistas and Screening
Even though the underbrush screens the garage area, it does not 100% screen it from the neighboring holes. Plus, the brush looks unsightly when standing on neighboring greens or tees. We will clean out a good portion of the brush and create some fescue mounds that will permanently screen the area no matter what time of the year. By doing this we will open up new vistas of the golf course. Stay tuned for progress pictures.
