Barn Hole Green Being Renovated

If you remember last year we stripped off the Barn Hole green to use it for our new green expansion on the 2nd hole.  For the time being, we are going to refloat the putting surface and add some subsurface drainage.  By changing the contours of the green we have now created many more pin positions.  This is a nice little par 3 hole that can be used for practice or as a spare hole.  We plan on seeding the green next week and should have turf cover on it by June.

Seed Germinating on New Berms

The native area seed is starting to germinate on our berms only a week after seeding and this is due to mainly keeping the seed irrigated daily and a few warm days.  We are hoping by early June that this area will be completely covered.

New Cart Path Material

We are experimenting with a tan crushed stone for our cart paths.  This is what it will look like as we started doing the cart path on the alternate par 3 hole.  Eventually all cart paths will be done in this material if it holds up well to inclement weather.  Another benefit of this is you can actually play off of it.

New Drainage By 17 Tee

Running drainage through the new tee complex and native area located by the 17th tee.  With the lack of elevation in this area, a sump pump system will be used to move water out of this area.

New Tee on Old 7

Prep work and sodding just about done on new 7000 sq ft tee complex on our alternate par 3 hole.  Finish work should be done in the next 3-5 days.

Staying Ahead of the Rain

All the fairways, approaches and chipping areas are being topdressed today before we get inundated with rain.

First Mowing of the Season

Although they are mostly sand covered, this is our first mowing of the season on the greens.  We are trying to stay ahead of the heavy rain forecasted for the upcoming week.  Most likely our dryject application scheduled for this Friday will be cancelled because after the 2" of rain possible tomorrow, there is another 2-3" predicted for Thursday.
